The AVVBA Foundation, Inc. (501c3) supports our mission to support Veterans in our community. In the past, we have focused on installing memorials, but as the years go on, we are now supporting the next generation by providing scholarships to Veterans coming off of Active Duty, who are furthering their education. This is a tax deductible donation.

For over 25 years, AVVBA has created and installed memorials to honor local veterans who died in Vietnam. We are currently in the final stages of creating a new Memorial to honor U.S. Army First Lieutenant Travis Bertrand Lee Jr., who was killed in action in Vietnam on 17 April 1969.

The AVVBA Board has provided $1,500 of the $8,000 project budget. With the additional $6,500 of financial support donated by our loyal members, this memorial will be installed in Sewell Park on Lower Roswell Road, in Cobb County. There is no better way to honor a veteran, so don't delay. Please make your donation today! Our Deadline for your contributions is 15 March 2024, so donate today!.

An impressive new memorial is being built in Dunwoody to honor both the American and Vietnamese soldiers who sacrificed their lives for freedom from Communism in Vietnam.

This project is being led by the Vietnamese American Community of Georgia (VAC-GA) with the support and partnership of the Atlanta Vietnam Veterans Business Association (AVVBA).

This dramatic memorial will be the only one of its kind east of the Mississippi, and will serve to remind both current and future generations of Americans from all ages and backgrounds that “Freedom Is Not Free.”

AVVBA will be providing a $2,500 donation to this memorial. Please consider contributing to increase the amount of AVVBA’s donation for this project. If our combined donation is $5,000 or more, our AVVBA logo will be engraved on a black granite donor wall adjacent to the memorial’s entrance walkway.

If you wish to donate by check, please make the check out to AVVBA, add “Vietnam War Memorial” to the memo line, and then mail it to:

The AVVBA Foundation, inc. (501c3) is working on the production of a 35–40-minute documentary film entitled Truths and Myths About the Vietnam War. The purpose of this film is to honor those who served in the Vietnam War by providing factual information addressing the misinformation that for decades provided a skewed historical perspective of the war impacting those who served. We anticipate the film will also provide an enduring legacy for future generations.

The Foundation has engaged David Naglieri, the multiple Emmy-award winning documentary filmmaker, as our producer. The video will cover the following topics:

  • Treatment of Returning Veterans
  • Unprecedented Humanitarian Acts by U.S. Soldiers
  • News Media Coverage During Vietnam War
  • Anti-War Movement, its Influence & Funding
  • Myth, War Unwinnable
  • Lessons Learned
